Slowly, it creeps...
It has been a month or so when a convoy and other by passers (who were really just by passers) of around 55 naive souls got unlawfully massacred. Unlawfully, brutally and excruciatingly.
Maguindanao
The bloody news, which ricocheted back and forth in the media streams, shook the entire world.
The heart-crushing massacre took mark in the realms of history in the mostly-it-happens (only this time, the victims were too many to be missed) place of Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao.
Maguindanao is a province of Mindanao and is one of those places considered as war and rebellion hot spots.
It was reported that a convoy of politicians, a group of media men, attorneys and civilians, who just unluckily took that road that day, got killed with bullets and slashes of knives. The motive -- politics, unclear but politics.
Police reports said that the main suspect is Ampatuan Jr., who was the mayor of the city when the massacre happened but later was dismissed from office after the government took charge of the city, based from solid evidences found in the place (were they playing Blue's Clues?).
The Massacre
Further investigations followed that half of the casualties were buried and others were left exposed, permeating the air of the surrounding area. There were women, including the wife of a Mayor candidate in the city, who got tortured before they were killed and men shot straight to death.
The Law
Few days after the massacre, several upholding and continuous revolts persist in the place. The government finally decided to go Martial Law in Maguindanao.
Read it right. Martial Law.
Er, is it necessary? Do they have to?
I am afraid that everything is just pure pokerface. That there is something bigger behind all of these animosity, that "something " is going to happen again.
Recent news reported about another hostage taking in Agusan del Sur, the scheme would then be very obvious if the Martial Law will follow there.
I hope the Martial Law is just for taking those private armies and rebels in Maguindanao, not for another sinister smile :)

Blog it, baby...
Hello to our new Blog Site, Great Talks.
Actually, me and my blog partner didn't know where to start. After our DC teacher instructed us to make one, we've been surfing the net the whole weekend, sticking our faces on our monitors, trying to make an impressive, A-worthy blog.
Lo and behold, we finally did it. Or shall I say, my blog partner finally did it because he was the one who exerted more effort to make this site possible.
Shall we consider this blog as a portal for main issues, important happenings and great talks.
Do visit this blog habitually.
